ROARING 20's - EVERYTHING FLAPPER

I Love dress up parties! And as you may well be aware Halloween is one of my favorite times of year!I was contacted by one of my amazing subscribers, and asked to create a 20's Flapper inspired makeup look for her! This is what i came up with.

This look is amazingly simple, especially if your sprung with a last minute fancy dress party its simple to put a costume together! And i bet you will be the "Cats pajamas"!

 WHAT ARE FLAPPERS??
Flappers were women of the 20's, who were know as a "New Breed" of women. They were the rebellious ones. The wore UN-conventional clothes (for back then), smoked, were casual about sex and loved makeup and Jazz. These women started the fashion-ista era! They were the first to get out their and start trends!

FASHION
Flapper fashion can be looked at as the "Chicago" Rar Rar  fringe skirts and things like that.
But the Original "Flapper" fashion was quite boyish, Straight and loose dresses, with a drooping waistlines.
Then in the later 20's it grew into more what we associate to be "flapper" fashion. Hats, headbands, pearls and "Chicago" etc, glamor.

LANGUAGE
This is quite interesting and funny to read! Take a look its a laugh! They had their own language for everything!

Dimbox- A taxicab
Flatwheeler- A young man who takes a young lady to an egg harbor
Egg harbor- A fall dance
Clothesline- One who tells neighborhood stories

MAKEUP
The Flappers main makeup statement were the lips! Generally quite dark, with a accentuated cupid bow. From all the main pictures ive seen they have all been slightly rounder in shape. the Bottom lips also appears to always be fuller, with the top lip tapering down to a thin line in the corners.

Their skin was matte and pale. Their eyebrows were very thin, and more on the straighter side.

They really liked the big "doe" eyed effect, to re-create this, were circle lenses like ive done in the below tutroial.
With the eyes their are many different eye looks, some being more subtle then others. This is the main and most popular look that Ive found. Smokey and contoured eyes. Contouring mainly in the eyebrow and crease portion. making the eyes appear more sunken in and alluring.
